It can be confusing (or even scary ) when you used the Cargosnap app to collect data, to then see they're not showing in the platform.
Where are they and why is this happening?
The 'where' is easy. When you press on the 3 lines in the left corner of the app, you can see where your uploads are 'hanging':
Completed uploads
Pending uploads
Failed uploads
If they are under pending or failed uploads, they are still in the cloud, waiting to be uploaded. Not to worry, your data is not lost!
As for the 'why', there are several explanations for this, depending on the situation. Below we created a list with steps to take that might solve your issue:
Check the Internet connection
It can happen that when you're device is connected to the WiFi, the connection is not stable at the moment of uploading. This can cause a delay in uploads. As soon as the connection is stable again, or you switch to mobile data (if enabled in platform), you should see the uploads coming through.
Reload settings in the Cargosnap app
When going to the menu of the app (3 lines in the left corner) and to 'advanced', you see a button to reload your settings.
Short press: If you press this shortly, it will reload the settings, with the possibility that this time the uploads are coming through.
Long press: Now if the short press is not working, you can also try a long-press on this same button. Press it long enough until the screen turns white. With a long-press, you are resetting the CargoSnap app. Usually this works to push the uploads through that were stuck. This step can also be combined with the issue of an unstable internet connection.
Android Device - Power Optimization
Do you have an Android device? Then it can be due to a setting on the device it self. This article explains how to disable it, in order to prevent uploads getting stuck.
iOS device
