Re-register a device

You want to activate the device again on your phone after you have deactivated the device before. This is what you need to know.

Important:

You can only re-register a device if you use the exact same piece of hardware (mobile phone, scanner, etc.). In other words: the same phone you were using before. More information in this article 'Not able to re-register a device'.

Create new device:

If you lost/damaged your old phone or you simply bought a new one and you are now using a completely different type of hardware, this means you first have to create a new device on the platform. More information can be found here: 'How to add a device'.

Why re-registration of a device is useful?

  • The operator  was temporarily not using a device, but now returns to the operation.
  • Re-registration means that in your file overview, you can still search on files by device name.
  • While the operator was not working, you had room in your subscription for other operators to use their own device.

Re-registering or recovering the device is done as follows:

☝️ Note: to manage a device on the platform, you need to be either:

  • A "Manager" of the team of the user you want to manage;

  • Or an Admin ("LicenseAdmin" or "SuperAdmin")

Read more about roles here.

  • In the upper right corner, click on your company name and navigate to "Teams, devices & users";

  • Then, go to "Devices" to locate the device you would like to re-register;

  • Click "Activate" to set up the app again, by generating a new QR code so you can scan it from the new device. Much like you did initially.

Done!
